About The Position

This position is a research specialist role which involves direct support of the Principal Investigator and Study Coordinators in MUSC Neuro-X Lab. Duties include assist with the recruitment of research participants and the data collection of behavioral, physiological and brain imaging research data. This position involves working with researchers, clinicians, and patients in the research setting, as well as administering experimental brain stimulation techniques on research participants. Provide clerical support for Principal Investigator.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma and four years of relevant program experience.
  • A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the recruitment of research participants and the collection of behavioral, physiological and brain imaging data through telephone interviews and onsite clinic recruitment. The Research Specialist will be responsible for implementing recruitment procedures specifically as it relates to research subject identification through tumor registries, electronic medical records, mailing invitation letters and conducting follow-up telephone interviews.
  • Conduct data collection and data entry into study database and maintain study binders and other regulatory files. Specifically, the Research Specialist will be responsible for carrying out study activities like administering brain stimulation and filling out participant data forms. Additionally, the Research Specialist will be required to develop and maintain study databases for collecting and storing study data. The Research Specialist will also be responsible for creating and storing all study documents and ensuring that all study related materials are maintained following regulatory protocols.
  • Work with researchers, clinicians, and patients in clinical and community settings to implement research projects in the Neuro-X Lab. The Research Specialist will be responsible for organizing community outreach activities, developing community educational materials, and conducting data collection activities.
