About The Position

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Ph.D. to get training, experience and to develop a skill set to support continued professional growth as a researcher/academic. The individual will be mentored and supervised by the CLASE executive director. This position has a limited term appointment term which is expected to end [2 years] after start date. The position may be extended beyond the initial term, contingent upon continued funding.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a related field of science and 5 years of professional experience
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting research and publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Strong knowledge of Latino education
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong writing and research skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis software and research methodologies

Nice To Haves

  • Grant development and grant writing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure ethics in research projects
  • Design, conduct, and analyze research studies focused on Latino education.
  • Conduct and/or oversee reviews of the literature
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed academic journals
  • Support ongoing external grant writing and research funding initiatives.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements in Latino education
  • Work with graduate students and executive director
  • Collaborate with executive director and CLASE graduate students on research
  • Collaborate and mentor graduate students and research assistants involved in CLASE research projects.
