About The Position

We are seeking a Research Officer to support high-impact biomedical research within the Antibiotic Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics and Dosing Optimisation Laboratory, based in the Drug Delivery, Disposition and Dynamics Theme at the Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences. This role provides hands-on laboratory support to a National Health and Medical Research Council-funded program targeting antibiotic resistance by developing innovative strategies towards personalised medicine. You will contribute directly to the delivery of high-impact research by providing experimental, technical, and operational support across a range of laboratory activities This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated research professional who enjoys practical bench work, values collaboration, and is motivated by laboratory work that supports researchers and students, and translates to improved patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting high‑quality antibiotic pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics research , including planning and performing static and dynamic in vitro infection studies, bioanalytical assays, bacterial susceptibility testing, and related laboratory procedures.
  • Supporting research operations and data integrity by managing experiment scheduling, collecting and analysing data, preparing research documentation and reports, and contributing to continuous improvement and quality assurance activities.
  • Maintaining a safe, compliant, and well‑functioning laboratory environment through preparation of sterile media, equipment maintenance, adherence to research protocols and OHS requirements, and effective communication with colleagues, collaborators, and research students.
