The Behavioral Insights and Parenting Lab (BIP Lab) at the University of Chicago brings together interdisciplinary scholars to design, evaluate, and disseminate programs to help children from low-income families to achieve their full potential by improving caregivers’ engagement in their learning. The BIP Lab’s team of full-time staff, post-doc and PhD scholars, and student research assistants have worked with over 500 community partners serving low-income families with young children in Chicago and across the US. We are now launching global initiatives, as well. All the BIP Lab’s research and research-informed programs are informed by systematic data collection and analysis conducted in partnership with community institutions and the many thousands of families they serve who participate in the BIP Lab’s research programs. Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Research Manager will manage all activities associated with the development and execution of several projects of the BIP Lab. This position oversees all aspects of the implementation of at least one grant-funded field research project including operationalizing the research design, creating research instruments, recruiting implementation partner sites and research participants, providing technical oversight of digital interventions, managing data collection and cleaning for analysis, and supporting writing of implementation reports. The Research Manager oversees the work of student research assistants supporting field research. This position also supports operations for the BIP Lab and dissemination of the lab’s work. This position is grant-funded for one year with the potential for future renewal.
