About The Position

Research Intern Opportunities for UMass Lowell Students 1-10 hours/week 6 mo – 1 year assignments Are you passionate about igniting positive change in the lives of children and adolescents with Autism and other developmental disabilities? Are you interested in gaining hands-on experience in research in the field of psychology and behavioral science? If your answer is a resounding "yes," then we've got an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Student Intern! As a Student Intern at our May Center School in Wilmington, you'll be an essential part of our mission to support individuals ages 3-21 with Autism and developmental disabilities in achieving their goals and aspirations. You will have the opportunity to learn about the ways we support these individuals using the methods of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), supporting the team through assisting with data collection in ongoing research protocols. You will partner closely with our staff and researchers to collect primary data as well as fidelity and reliability measures.

Requirements

  • Age requirement: Must be 18 years or older to be eligible
  • Education: Enrolled at UMass Lowell
  • Availability: Scheduled as needed Monday through Friday between the hours of 9am and 3pm
  • Qualities: Reliability, attention to detail, respect for the privacy and dignity of the individuals we serve
  • Flexibility: Capacity to adapt to changing environments and respond effectively to unexpected situations
