This position works under general supervision to assist, receive training, and acquire working knowledge of each department's areas of responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in an academic institution as either an undergraduate or graduate student
  • Must be in good standing academically
  • Intern is expected to take appropriate safety and compliance training as determined by his/her home department and UT Southwestern policy
  • No experience required

Responsibilities

  • Intern will learn how to use a closed-loop real-time analysis framework for electrophysiological data.
  • Implement two experimental designs on somatosensory perception within this framework: a conscious detection threshold task and a multi-sensory perception task.
  • Learn how to work with single-neuron data, based on existing datasets.
  • Potentially contributing to the development of an sEEG localization analysis.
  • Read and understand core literature on intracortical brain-computer interfacing.
  • Shadow test sessions, to learn the practices of data collection with patients.
  • Attend group meeting within our Department.
  • Specific duties will depend upon the goals of the training program and the intern's qualifications. Duties may include, but are not limited to: analyzing data, performing laboratory experiments, and/or auditing research charts and entering data.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
