About The Position

As the Research Intern, you will be expected to design and execute experiments systematically, analyze and report the results weekly. You will also work closely with internal and external subject matter experts to identify and understand the nature of nascent technologies, including both characterization and purification systems. Hands on position available immediately. Term: Six months with up to twelve month internship This position is onsite at our Marlborough, MA site, In the Research Intern role, you will serve as a critical contributor to the development and integration of Sartorius’ emerging technologies for characterization of different types of nanoparticles such as lipid nanoparticles, extracellular vesicles and viral vectors. These leading-edge platforms will be utilized in basic research as well as the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. What you will accomplish together with us Development & testing of Sartorius’ emerging platforms and processes for nanoparticles (e.g., lipid nanoparticles) analytics. Conceive, research & support assay development using orthogonal analytical platforms. Work closely with Sartorius product management and development teams to prioritize areas of technology research, expected to extend beyond current product roadmaps. Strategic research & development, and transfer in, of analytical technologies for nanoparticles to provide a basis for evolution of current and future Sartorius nanoparticle products. Provide support or guidance to technical support team and R&D teams as needed for transfer of technologies developed and/or adopted into the Sartorius product development or OEM organizations. What will convince us Education: PhD student or graduate in Bioengineering, or closely related discipline with formal education and experience with nanoparticle characterization methods. Experience: Experience & knowledge of state-of the-art nanoparticles analytical technologies such as HPLC, FFF, Raman Spectroscopy and Flow Cytometry and their application for research and development. Good knowledge of current developments in nanoparticle technologies. Previous hands-on experience with characterization and purification of nanoparticles. Demonstrated ability to interface with specialists from target biological application areas and engineering disciplines such as mechanical (hardware, fluidic, thermal), electrical, software, sensor technology (optical, electronical), and chemical.
