About The Position

The Research Impact Manager leads the Faculty’s research engagement and impact agenda, working closely with the Manager, Research and Graduate Research and the Deputy Dean (Research) to embed a strong culture of impact across research labs, centres and groups. The role provides high-level strategic advice to researchers and Faculty leadership, oversees the development and delivery of the annual engagement and impact strategy, and supports the creation of project-specific impact plans to ensure research delivers meaningful outcomes beyond academia. You will build and maintain strategic partnerships, monitor national developments to identify opportunities for research translation, and support impact lab leaders and research centre directors with strategic planning and operational oversight, including budget management. In collaboration with marketing and communications teams, you will enhance the Faculty’s public profile and lead outreach initiatives such as lectures, forums and conferences, while fostering effective collaboration across portfolios and managing professional staff supporting research centres and impact labs. As the successful candidate, you will possess experience in a research translation environment, with a strong understanding of research planning and administration processes and a demonstrated ability to achieve impactful outcomes and meet targets. You will bring excellent negotiation, organisational and prioritisation skills, with the capacity to manage competing demands effectively, along with sound knowledge of the local and national education landscape. You will have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to analyse complex information and prepare clear, persuasive proposals and tenders. Confident working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, you will also demonstrate strong computer literacy and the ability to work independently under broad direction, exercising initiative, sound judgement and problem-solving skills.
