Summary: Review the utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of operations in accordance with established practices, processes, regulations, guidelines and standards in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or other STEM related degrees.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook; and basic knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, Facilities Management software, Industrial Control software, Computer Aided Manufacturing Software, and Computer Aided Design software.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, documentation, and implementation of new QC processes and procedures.
  • Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products for conformance to specifications.
  • Assist in chemical inventory management.
  • Compile and analyze laboratory test data; prepare reports and charts to support findings.
  • Assist with design, testing, and validation of new product formulations or process improvements.
  • Support calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Participate in troubleshooting quality issues, identifying root causes, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation.
  • Observe manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records, data logs, and documentation to support regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Follow all company safety policies and wear appropriate PPE when in manufacturing or laboratory environments.
  • Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Analyze test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives, and modify or adjust equipment to meet specifications.
  • Discuss changes in design, method of manufacture and assembly, and drafting techniques and procedures with staff and coordinate corrections.
  • Set up and conduct tests of complete units and components under operational conditions to investigate proposals for improving equipment performance.
  • Record test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in product or test methods.
  • Abide by, enforce and participate in the implementation and ongoing oversight of all company safety standards and regulations.
