About The Position

The Van Andel Institute (VAI) Laboratory of Andrew Pospisilik, Ph.D., is hiring a fixed-term (3 months) Research Data Technician to support ongoing projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for curating finished analyses into publication format. This may include preparation of supplementary data tables, preparation of figures (E.g. heatmaps, ggolot, figure assembly) and uploading of data to repositories. The candidate will also be responsible for intersecting outputs of finished ML analyses with external data types and downloading, curating, standardizing and validating the accuracy of external data.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science or a related field with some prior experience, and data analysis/report writing or similar experience required.
• Demonstrated excellence in the development and optimization of data analysis pipelines for assays, in production or research environments.
• Experience in the development and monitoring of quality metrics for assays, for assay development and/or production.
• Experience in the development and execution of validation and verification protocols.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills will be needed in our collaborative and fast-paced team.
• Familiar with statistical and data analysis tools and concepts.
