The Vaccine and Infectious Disease Division (VIDD) is recruiting a Research Associate for the Schiffer Group to investigate the spread of infectious diseases across populations using spatial and molecular epidemiological methods, while also participating in clinical care on the Pediatric Infectious Disease Consult Service. The Research Associate will lead an independent research project under the mentorship of a faculty mentor examining transmission dynamics of pathogens, building on work that has analyzed SARS-CoV-2 spread using viral sequence data to identify transmission patterns across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, as well as prior studies on pediatric COVID-19 vaccine accessibility and cancer-related health disparities. Looking forward, the position will support continued development of methods to characterize the spatial spread and migration of pathogens across regions and international borders.
