The Harvesting & Processing Supporting Lead is responsible for supporting static harvest and automation harvest and their production pipelines. This includes participating in and (as needed) leading harvest in the static and automated greenhouses and routinely processing harvested plants on threshing equipment and by hand.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a greenhouse environment or equivalent hot & humid environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Plant Sciences, or related field

Responsibilities

  • Support the Static Harvest Pipeline
  • Participate daily in harvesting corn, cotton, and sorghum from static greenhouses.
  • Lead static harvest activities as needed, working alongside or in place of the Static Harvest Lead.
  • Process plants using threshing equipment or by hand, ensuring deadlines are met and plant identity is accurately maintained.
  • Serve as the lead for select lower‑volume pipelines, including planning, harvesting, and processing, with support from team members as needed.
  • Communicate issues, delays, or questions to the Static Harvest Lead promptly.
  • Support the Automation Harvest Pipeline 1-2 times per week, participate in harvesting soybeans & wheat out of the automated greenhouses.
  • As needed, lead harvest alongside or in place of the Automation Harvest Lead.
  • As needed, place and remove plants from dyers on designated schedule
  • Communicate any issues or questions up to the Static Harvest Lead.
  • Ensure all harvest & processing tasks are performed safely and ergonomically
  • Assist in other team and greenhouse duties as assigned.
