Fred Hutch is seeking a Research Associate to engage in mentored clinical care and research activities. The Research Associate position will provide a period of additional research and clinical training to prepare for future faculty role at an academic medical center or similar institution. Applicants should have completed an ACGME fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Diseases and be American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) eligible. Requirements

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • MD or foreign equivalent
  • Board eligibility or certification in Pediatrics
  • Completion of ACGME Fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at time of position start
  • American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) eligibility or certification in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at time of position start
  • Advanced research training in viral evolution and antibody-mediated immunity including experience conducting and interpreting neutralization assays and measuring the impact of viral variation on antibody-mediated neutralization
  • Prior research studying RSV antigenic evolution with at least one first-author publication on the topic

Responsibilities

  • Shadow physicians in clinical activities to support transition to faculty role
  • If applicable, provide direct clinical care as part of specialty care team
  • Engage with laboratory and/or clinical research faculty mentors and staff to contribute to existing research portfolios.
  • Gain knowledge and skills to initiate original research projects with support from faculty mentors
  • Disseminate research output in peer-reviewed scientific journals and conferences.
  • Other duties as assigned
