About The Position

Detail-oriented, organized, personable individual needed to conduct interviews and related responsibilities for Drexel’s Medical Cannabis Research Center. This position is grant-funded; employment is contingent upon the continued availability of those funds. The Research Associate position will provide support to the study investigators and research staff located in the Department of Community Health & Prevention in the Dornsife School of Public Health at Drexel University. As a member of an interdisciplinary team, the Research Associate will be primarily responsible for completing data collection for a study focused on medical cannabis use. This includes but is not limited to: conducting research interviews (quantitative and qualitative); performing audits on various data collection documents; distributing and reconciling follow-up surveys; and assisting with training and mentoring of students involved in the project.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, or related fields or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience.
  • Prior experience conducting interviews required.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with medical cannabis research is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • competitive applicant should also have an understanding of both quantitative and qualitative interviewing approaches.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office and REDCap/Qualtrics is highly recommended.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary interviewer for a medical cannabis study.
  • Develop thorough understanding of various data collection and tracking documents in order to conduct audits and assure data validity.
  • Distribute and track completion of follow-up surveys for enrolled participants.
  • Oversee shipping, receipt, secure storage, and inventory control of study products in accordance with research protocols.
  • Onboard and train students as backup interviewers as needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned as additional research projects are developed.
