About The Position

Research Associate responsible for fundamental analysis of companies in the US Pharmaceutical sector.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or similar qualification with a focus on Business, Finance, Mathematics or other quantitative fields
  • NYSE Licensing Requirements – Series 7, 63, 86 & 87, SIE
  • Understanding of accounting and financial modeling concepts/techniques
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Strong computer skills (Excel) with ability to quickly learn new platforms
  • Detail oriented with solid analytical skills and ability to synthesize data points into trends beyond the mainstream
  • Energetic, self-motivated and an ability to perform under pressure and meet time sensitive deadlines, sometimes for extended periods of time
  • Demonstrated passion for equity/financial markets
  • Solid understanding of financial/stock market AUTHORITIES, IMPACT, RISK
  • Regular interaction with clients Supporting Senior Analyst

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in life sciences/therapeutics is an asset
  • Prior work experience in capital markets, equity research, or investment banking
  • Previous exposure to the Pharmaceutical sector a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide research support to the Senior Analyst
  • Develop an expertise in the US Pharmaceutical sector and covered companies
  • Assist in the development of detailed company-specific models as well as macro/market models
  • Coordinate, generate and maintain research reports, presentations and databases
  • Support and answer client queries as they relate to the sector & coverage
  • Establish and maintain relationships with coverage companies, investors and internal colleagues within RBC Capital Markets
  • Proactively identify operational risks/ control deficiencies in the business
  • Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities
  • Escalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies and risks that you identify to your line manager and the relevant risk and control functions on a timely basis
