About The Position

In this role you will be responsible for the design and day-to-day operation antibody and protein purification, characterization and protein analytics workflows at Invivyd. This position will work collaboratively with antibody discovery researchers and project managers. As part of a small research team, you will report to a PhD scientist and have the opportunity for scientific and professional mentorship and well as ownership of your research work. You will play a key technical role in the experimentation required to discover and advance candidate antibody molecules for development. The successful candidate will serve as a key member of the R&D team, supporting the up/down selection of antibody candidates throughout the therapeutic discovery and development process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field, and 1+ years of bench Industry experience
  • Experience in mammalian and bacterial cell culture with an emphasis on protein expression
  • Strong knowledge and wet-lab experience performing protein purification and characterization using Akta FPLC systems, BLI (highly preferred), and functional assays
  • Proactive team player and flexibility to work on multiple projects as the discovery programs evolve over time
  • Ability to design and execute antibody discovery workflows and interpret in-process readouts
  • Excellent verbal and written technical and non-technical communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or understanding of various analytical methods for protein characterization and developability assessment of drug candidates is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to Invivyd’s protein production and analytics workflow
  • Demonstrates reliable technical skills in a focused number of methodological areas including various binding and biophysical characterization techniques including biosensor (Octet, Biacore) assays, thermal stability, and light scattering
  • Purify proteins and antibodies using FPLC systems (Akta) and various from of chromatography
  • Assist in developing new assays for protein characterization within the context of antibody discovery campaigns
  • Support basic Antibody engineering efforts, including Fab and scFv preparation and purification
  • Ensure effective, high-quality, timely and appropriate documentation in electronic laboratory notebooks
  • Performs initial analysis of experimental data and interprets immediate experimental outcomes and/or conclusions within established protocols
  • Participates in the planning and performance of experiments within standard procedures with minimal supervision
  • Troubleshoots routine technical problems within standard procedures and performs regular quality control audits on instrumentation and associated outputs
  • May be expected to present during internal research and development team meetings
