About The Position

WTI is a research department at Montana State University where we partner with faculty, other universities, transportation agencies and private sector partners.

Requirements

• Master's degree in engineering, health, business, or a field related to transportation.
• At least three years of experience working in the transportation industry.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in safe routes to school programs and projects, including creating and evaluating non-infrastructure programs/projects.
• Experience in planning, implementing and evaluating pop-up traffic calming projects.
• Knowledge of USDOT's Safe Streets and Roads for All program and the Safe Systems Approach.
• Five years or more of experience working in the transportation industry.
• Knowledge of MSU's and WTI's policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assure compliance of program area activities with MSU and WTI policies and procedures.
• Assure quality control of proposals and realism of proposal schedules and budgets.
• Review deliverable products including reports.
• Develop proposals and secure base funding for new research initiatives and opportunities.
• Serve as a representative of WTI within the mobility and public transportation community.
• Pursue and coordinate opportunities for additional research grants and contracts to expand the scope and reach of WTI.
• Facilitate coordinated outreach and technology transfer to the university and mobility and public transportation community.
• Support WTI research tasks and projects related to mobility and public transportation.
• Participate in strategic planning or other internal initiatives to benefit WTI & MSU.
