About The Position

Job Summary: The purpose of the In Vivo Research Associate II/III position is to independently conduct in vivo studies in support of the Company's goals and objectives. Responsibilities: - Works closely with Study Directors, Study Coordinators and cross functional team members to ensure all assigned studies are conducted in accordance with study protocols, standard operating procedures and company policies - Collection of body weight data - Collection of tumor volume measurements - Collect tissue samples and process for shipment to sponsor as well as internal purposes - Responsible for the tracking of samples and shipping of samples to sponsor companies - Preparation of animals for procedures, including shaving, ear tagging and other tasks as directed - Performance of clinical observations and humane euthanasia in mice - Collect relevant data and provide feedback to team members regarding progress of assigned projects - Perform advanced in vivo procedures (including sample collection, surgeries.) with minimal direct supervision required - May be trained on more complex procedures - Perform subcutaneous inoculations - Administer therapeutic agents through different routes of administration, including IP, PO, SC, IM, ID, IN and IV - Providing general group support by cleaning, general supply stocking and sample shipping - Responsible for tracking time spent on projects (project logs) Minimum Requirements: - Bachelor's degree is required - 2-3 years of experience handling animals in a Vivarium environment is required - Comfortable working in a laboratory animal research environment - Demonstrated ability to perform a minimum of three of the following in vivo oncology tumor models in mice: - Animal handling - Tumor implantation - Tumor measurement - Gross necropsy - Simple drug preparation - Drug administration by various routes - Minor survival surgery - In-life and terminal bleeds - Demonstrated sense of integrity and confidentiality - Planning, organizational skills and flexibility in a reactive environment - Demonstrated accountability and responsibility for own work - Ability to follow standard operating procedures, observe safety and security procedures - Able to troubleshoot effectively and solve problems with supervision Preferred Requirements: - AALAS certification at ALAT level or higher is preferred Crown Bioscience is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. Requirements
