About The Position

The drug discovery and development team at Protagonist Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated Contract Research Associate for a hands-on laboratory position supporting ongoing research programs. This individual will perform screening on cell-based assays under the direction of project scientists and contribute to timely generation and analysis of high-quality data. The role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. This is a contract position focused on experimental execution and data support for active discovery programs.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, or a related scientific field
  • 3 years of relevant industry laboratory experience with a B.S. or 1 year with an M.S.
  • Hands-on experience with the following techniques: Cell-based assays and routine cell culture MSD, ELISA and flow cytometry
  • Proficiency with data analysis and documentation tools such as GraphPad Prism, flow cytometry software, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational, documentation, and time management skills
  • Ability to follow SOPs precisely and adapt quickly to new procedures and project needs
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously

Responsibilities

  • Perform and support cell-based reporter screening assays and in vitro biochemical assays, including but not limited to ELISA, MSD and flow cytometry-based assays.
  • Collect, analyze, summarize, and communicate experimental data to project teams in a timely manner
  • Maintain cell lines and routine laboratory operations related to assigned projects
  • Manage reagent and sample inventories and maintain accurate records and databases
  • Ensure laboratory equipment, reagents, and procedures are maintained according to established SOPs and industry standards
  • Assist in writing and updating technical documentation, including assay protocols and data reports
  • Follow established SOPs and contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory workflows
