About the Opportunity Participates in the development, coordination and implementation of several research projects that are essential to the research activities of the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute. Under the supervision of research faculty, performs a variety of collaborative duties involved in these research projects. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • A minimum of 0-6 months of experience in clinical research.
  • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.
  • Have excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Candidate should be outgoing, organized, detail-oriented, and motivated to further the research goals of the WVU RNI.
  • Able to adhere to firm deadlines.
  • Position requires the ability to protect participant confidentiality and maintain composure when handling sensitive issues.
  • Position requires the ability to work in a team environment, maintain a professional appearance and interact with others in a professional manner.
  • Knowledge of research methods and design.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain consent and assist patients in enrolling in wearable/biometric studies for memory problems, addiction, movement disorders, etc.
  • Perform compliance calls, facilitate patient payments, perform tech trouble shooting and provide patient escort and support services for scheduled appointments.
  • Administer cognitive and/or behavioral assessments, assess vital signs, perform EEG, etc.
  • Plan and schedule research activities.
  • Observe and record appropriate data, perform quality control review of results for accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform and maintain inventory of study supplies.
  • Operate, calibrate, clean, and perform routine maintenance on specialized equipment.
  • Conduct literature and library searches on specified topics and prepare abstracts, PowerPoint presentations, and/or manuscript drafts if requested.
  • Prepares and organizes basic information for reports to be written by investigators and scientists.
  • Maintains required records, statistics, reports, etc. as mandated by federal or state laws and/or institutional policies.
  • Retrieves data reports from the respective repositories when requested.
  • Assists with data archiving activities.
  • Assists with clinical research trial participant recruiting activities.
  • Maintains established department policies, procedures, objectives and quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control.
  • Accompany study participants to scheduled appointments and provide assistance, as needed.
  • Prepares reports and presents results of research activities.
