The Computer Science Department (CSD) is one of the seven academic departments in the Carnegie Mellon School of Computer Science (SCS). We are seeking a Research Assistant. This position will work with research projects pertaining theoretical computer science, specifically graph algorithms and fine-grained complexity. Therefore, we are in search of a team member who is able to effectively interact with a varied population of internal and external partners at a high level of integrity. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
  • Experience in developing algorithms
  • Experience with fine grained complexity
  • Knowledge in theoretical computer science is needed
  • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
  • Successful background investigation

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, record and assess data.
  • Write and test code according to project specifications related to graph algorithms and fine-grained complexity.
  • Writing detailed reports and records
  • Work on research projects related to theoretical computer science.
  • Other duties as assigned.
