Emp Status Regular Full time Work Shift Compensation Range What you will be doing Research Assistant for Magnetic Resonance Laboratory Anticipated Dates: May/June 2026 to June 2027 We are looking to hire one or more Research Assistants (RA) in the MRI Lab of the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) to assist with multiple ongoing projects related to MRI research, including topics related to peripheral nerve imaging. The ideal candidate would be one spending one or two ‘gap years’, i.e. after completion of an undergraduate/baccalaureate program, to conduct research in an academic and clinical setting. Sample projects and roles of the RA include: 1. Development of Technology to Extend Scope of MRI in Orthopedics (Ongoing support from industry partners): To develop new software/hardware for MRI. Tasks include: a. Recruit volunteer and patient subjects for MRI scans: consent subjects, maintain project databases, help oversee scanning b. Musculoskeletal imaging, digital modeling, dynamic MRI, and peripheral nerve imaging i. Work directly with on-site scientist to maintain subject lists, assist with postprocessing of scans and analysis ii. Assist with literature reviews, as needed, for manuscript preparation 2. Technology Development Projects (Projects internal to HSS) a. Submit, update and amend IRB submissions b. Keep data records, including maintaining project databases c. Performing image segmentation (delineation of anatomical structures on medical images) 3. Retrospective Studies (ongoing) – Imaging/chart reviews, summary reports a. Help with literature reviews b. Manuscript editing, submission
