The Department of Biomedical Sciences is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant 2 for a Regular, Full-Time position. Requirements

Knowledge of advanced biochemical terminology.
Knowledge of advanced laboratory procedures and methodology.
Knowledge of biochemical assays and associated instrumentation.
Knowledge of histological techniques and light microscopy.
Knowledge of computers and software programs used in data collection, interpretation, and reporting.
Knowledge of laboratory safety practices and procedures.
Knowledge of biological and biochemical techniques.
Ability to train and supervise support personnel.
Ability to plan, organize, and work independently.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to multitask and ensure deadlines are met.
Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or another related field

Nice To Haves

Hands-on experience pertinent to biochemical, molecular, and/or histological techniques.

Responsibilities

Assisting with biological research experiments, data collection, interpretation, evaluation, and documentation of research-related lab projects
Maintaining computer databases of research and relevant research protocols
Training and supervising new research personnel
Occasional evening, weekend, and holiday work may be required
Carrying out additional duties as assigned
