About The Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the University’s Research and Innovation Services (RIS) as a Research and Knowledge Exchange Contracts and Finance Manager. RIS is a central professional service which supports the University’s research and knowledge exchange activities. The Contracts and Finance Manager will be a member of the Contracts and Research Finance Team within RIS, working closely with the Head of Contracts and Research Finance, and with other colleagues in RIS, Finance, and the wider University. The Contracts and Finance Manager will have responsibility for the management of a portfolio of research and knowledge exchange contracts, and for providing financial management support for research and knowledge exchange projects. The role holder will be expected to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with academic and professional services staff across the University, and with external funders and collaborators.

Requirements

• Educated to degree level or equivalent.
• Experience of managing research and knowledge exchange contracts.
• Experience of providing financial management support for research and knowledge exchange projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to manage a complex workload and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Management of a portfolio of research and knowledge exchange contracts, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on contract terms and conditions.
• Providing financial management support for research and knowledge exchange projects, including budgeting, forecasting, monitoring expenditure, and preparing financial reports.
• Developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with academic and professional services staff across the University, and with external funders and collaborators.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Contributing to the development and improvement of RIS processes and systems.
