About The Position

Performs routine pre-award and/or post-award sponsored programs activities associated with management and oversight of the life cycle of awards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and one year of experience OR combination of education and experience to equal five years

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read, hear and comprehend technical and regulatory information and to convey key information to others
  • Strong computer skills

Responsibilities

  • Review local, private, foundation and corporation grants. Provide education and support to faculty/staff during the proposal development process, while keeping the Directors of Sponsored Programs (SP) abreast of all potential submissions. Ensure compliance with institutional policy, agency guidelines and all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Assist faculty and staff with the preparation of assigned proposals to local, private, foundation and corporation sponsors.
  • Ensure all sponsored program documents and information are saved accurately and in the appropriate location.
  • Review and approve new fund requests and budget revisions for each budget period of an awarded sponsored project.
  • Serve as liaison between the Principal Investigator and the sponsoring agency as well as the liaison between Sponsored Programs and other institutional departments.
  • Ensure individuals and institutions are not debarred from receiving grants/contracts and that all necessary research committee approvals are in place.
  • Verify all required institutional, federal and state approvals, including institutional approvals such as IRB, IACUC, IBS, FCOI, etc.
  • Assist with internal funding programs.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to all policies, procedures and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSECEP OPs, etc.)
