About The Position

The Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center (GRC) invites applications for a Reporting and Analytics Senior Analyst position in the Population Health and Quality Improvement Analytics section. A successful applicant will engage in applied health services and population health research in a project-based, team setting. The successful candidate will provide expertise and support for quality improvement projects focused on chronic conditions. Reporting and Analytics Senior Analysts primarily perform technical tasks, and in some cases contribute to project leadership and administration. They are expected to complete work independently on tasks with moderate complexity while assisting or completing advanced complexity tasks with appropriate assistance and oversight. They may work on 2-4 projects at a time. The Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center’s mission is to identify, research, and spread innovative practices to improve access to quality healthcare for all Ohioans through partnerships with healthcare, state, and academic leaders. The GRC’s current work encompasses critical issues and challenges in public health and health services, including maternal and infant mortality, behavioral health, Ohio’s Medicaid members, management of chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension, and health system payment innovation. Requirements

  • Minimum Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree or 2 years of relevant experience with an advanced degree in a relevant field of study is required.
  • Requires successful completion of a background check.
  • Selected candidate may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated usage of R, SAS, or Stata for data analysis. R coding experience is preferred.
  • Experience working on quality improvement initiatives or population health research, including developing clinical or population health quality measures.
  • Training in quality improvement science is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leads or assists with the development of and provides technical assistance for the development and coding of quality measures
  • Reviews Electronic Health Record (EHR) data received from clinical sites participating in quality improvement collaboratives
  • Analyzes data including developing quantitative reports and visualizations with aggregated results of quality or population health metrics
  • Composes technical reports, manuals, and presentation materials
  • Presents results in clear format to non-technical audiences
  • Reviews work products from subcontractors
  • Conducts literature searches and literature reviews
  • Assists with institutional review board (IRB) applications and other data governance requests
  • Designs and executes linkage strategies for connecting administrative datasets
  • Work with data dashboards and address data quality issues
