About The Position

The Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center (GRC) invites applications for a Reporting and Analytics Consultant position in the Population Health and Quality Improvement Analytics section. A successful applicant will engage in applied health services, quality improvement, and population health research in a project-based, team setting. Reporting and Analytics Consultants are expected to perform technical tasks and contribute to project leadership and administration, including as co-Principal Investigator or Principal Investigator. They are expected to complete work independently on highly complex tasks. Reporting and Analytics Consultants may work on multiple projects at a time and have significant project responsibilities. Typical responsibilities are project-specific and may include combinations of the following: (1) leading highly complex data or research tasks; (2) independently determining the method(s) for completion of new projects (may receive guidance on overall project objectives); (3) developing new practices, processes, metrics or models, and providing solutions which may set precedent for the organization; (4) applying developed subject matter and methodological knowledge and advanced understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to manage a wide variety of projects; (5) providing guidance to research project and project sponsor colleagues; (6) conveying difficult, complex or sensitive information, and facilitating productive dialogue among project stakeholders; (7) reviewing work products from subcontractors or junior researchers; (8) designing and executing linkage strategies for connecting administrative datasets. The Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center’s mission is to identify, research, and spread innovative practices to improve access to quality healthcare for all Ohioans through partnerships with healthcare, state, and academic leaders. The GRC’s current work encompasses critical issues and challenges in public health and health services, including maternal and infant mortality, behavioral health, Ohio’s Medicaid members, management of chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension, and health system payment innovation. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree or 4 years of relevant experience with an advanced degree in a relevant field of study is required.
  • Requires successful completion of a background check.
  • Selected candidate may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated usage of R, SAS, or SQL for data preparation and analysis. R coding experience is preferred.
  • Experience processing and analyzing electronic health record data.
  • Experience in quality improvement or population health research.
