About The Position
The Wyoming Tribune Eagle, the capital city’s longest-running and most trusted media organization, is looking for a dynamic journalist with a passion for government accountability, enterprise and solutions-driven reporting to serve as our state government reporter. Do you enjoy telling readers how government decisions will impact their daily lives? Would you enjoy working with other reporters and photographers to provide readers with the most comprehensive coverage of the state Capitol? Are you energized by breaking news stories first online, and then working to provide the deeper, broader context behind the event? Requirements
- Ability to turn around a story on a tight deadline from meetings that can last an hour or all day
- Clear, concise writing that tells readers what they need to know without wasting their time and bogging them down in government jargon
- A willingness to collaborate with fellow newsroom team members to cover the news, regardless of when and where it happens
- A solid foundation in news writing and AP style
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of the BLOX content management system
- Experience with or willingness to learn reporting and editing skills for our weekly podcast
- Photography skills, or a willingness to learn
- Data analysis using spreadsheets, databases, etc.
