About The Position

This position reports directly to the designated immediate manager for the specific practice or outpatient department. The Rep Client Service II- Admin is responsible for scheduling patient appointments, interviewing patients to obtain appropriate demographic and financial information, and registering patients while performing other registration functions. They obtain necessary signatures and documentation from patients for billing and insurance purposes, and order laboratory and other tests via the computer system at the direction of physicians. The role also involves performing end-of-day disposition, gathering appropriate statistical information relating to patients, announcing patient arrivals, and answering incoming telephone calls for the department/practice. This individual serves as a liaison between patients, nurses, physicians, and others, providing excellent customer service and greeting patients. Additionally, this position processes referral requests for all providers within the clinic module and ensures that referral/authorization numbers are obtained for these services when needed.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of insurance plans and guidelines.
  • Ability to obtain authorizations and pre-certifications from insurance plans.
  • Excellent decision making skills and initiative.
  • Must be very detailed oriented.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communications skills in the English language.
  • Basic arithmetic skills are necessary for cashiering.
  • Data entry experience required.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and organize workflow.
  • Must be able to handle stressful situations in a professional customer service related manner.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in a clinical office setting with extensive patient registration, front desk, and insurance experience and knowledge.

Nice To Haves

  • ICD-9 and CPT coding preferred.
  • Completion of a standard terminology course.
