SUMMARY: Responsible for selling rental equipment in partnership with our Building Services sales and technical teams, making rental equipment selections, and pricing projects. Accountable for the rental services sales strategy and performance achievement of specific sales goals and objectives. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other functions may be assigned. Develop and close sales opportunities to help grow emergency response rentals, number of cooling contingency plans and to move into non-emergency markets including planned, seasonal and special events rentals Create and design accurate and timely technical solutions based on the customer’s temporary needs and specifications based on existing rental equipment offering Develop rental quotes from initial request to proposal, to include rental equipment quotes to complete turn-key solution proposals Work with Building Services teams and help develop and coordinate vertical market strategies for temporary solutions in your assigned market Coordinate shipments and returns to and from jobs, in conjunction with the Rental Services fulfillment team Travel to customer job sites is required, which may include outdoor work and/or work in mechanical/equipment rooms. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Construction or Engineering Technology, or other related areas is preferred. Alternatively, (10) years of experience in the HVAC industry performing project management, estimating, and sales roles is acceptable; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Windows / Microsoft Office product knowledge required. Familiarity with HVAC Systems and/or Temperature Controls required. Familiarity with Trane Sales Tools and TOPSS preferred. COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficiency in Microsoft office programs, general familiarity with computer systems, and ability to learn software applications as required. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid Driver’s License, Proof of personal insurance LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with complex mathematical concepts commensurate with the requirements for an engineering degree. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, identify possibilities, and arrive at solutions. Ability to apply common sense understanding to practical situations, and to interpret technical instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving abstract and concrete variables in a wide range of situations.
