About The Position

Bay City Electric Works is looking for a Rental Sales Executive responsible for developing and growing BCEW’s Generator Power rental market in Northern California. The Role Our Rental Sales Executive will identify, research, and contact prospective customers to build positive relationships that will generate future rental sales and repeat business. The Rental Sales Executive is accountable for quoting rental equipment, resourcing re-rented equipment and outside hauling.

Requirements

• 2 - 5 years equipment Rental Sales Experience
• Generator and diesel engine knowledge, preferred
• Basic understanding of Electrical concepts, preferred, to allow for estimating power generation needs
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, including articles, technical guides, governmental contracts, project bid documents, plans, and spec sheets
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence, especially heavy focus on email
• Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, vendors, and the public
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume
• Excellent customer relations skills
• Possess and maintain thorough knowledge of industry products and rental sales information
• Review competitor's products and BCEW’s products to remain competitive
• Attend training events, trade exhibitions, industry conferences, and meetings
• Flexible Team Player; Comfortable speaking up and bring new ideas to the team
• Ability to meet deadlines and make critical decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Ability to multi-task and set priorities accordingly
• Computer literate; proficient in MS Office products (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Familiar with Great Plains or similar service/parts/rental management software, strongly preferred
• Sales Force knowledge, preferred
• Some travel will be required, estimated to be approximately 5% of the time, to visit other BCEW territories for sales blitzes, training, factory visits, or regional meetings etc.
• Employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• This position requires regular driving to job sites, the ability to move around uneven ground, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to assess job sites and equipment needs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quotes and distribute to customers as required
• Assess and coordinate the proper rental equipment for customers
• Identify business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating their position in the industry, researching, and analyzing sales options
• Seek to develop new business through sales calls, organizing sales visits and other activities
• Maintain relationships with customers by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities; recommending profit and service improvements
• Deliver direct customer support: technical support, product specifications, model numbers, and pricing
• Provide problem solving & resolution for all customer issues
• Prepare call reports and other reports and keep rental database updated with new rental business contacts, quotes, and rental sales information
• Request credit information from new customer for setting up accounts, work with AR team, and help resolve any billing issues
• As a back-up, during high demand periods, open rental contracts, reserve equipment, and dispatch rental technicians
• On occasion, perform rental technician responsibilities such as delivery, pick-up, fueling, field services, check-in and check-out equipment, inventory equipment, troubleshoot and repair equipment if the overflow need is present.
• Act as Administrative On-call representative for Rental team on a rotating basis (one week every three weeks) during after hours and weekend period.
