Rent Car Manager Arrow Ford | Abilene, TX Arrow Ford is seeking a Rent Car Manager to lead and grow our in-house rental operation. This role is ideal for a motivated, detail-driven professional who understands car rental operations, thrives on technology, and knows how to deliver exceptional customer experiences. We’ve recently implemented TSD Dealer rent car software , modernized our fleet processes, and positioned the department for growth. Now we need the right leader to run day-to-day operations with confidence, accountability, and speed.

Requirements

  • Strong computer and system skills (dealership DMS, rental software, spreadsheets, reporting tools)
  • Excellent people skills—confident communicator with customers, staff, and leadership
  • Prior automotive dealership experience strongly preferred (rentals, service, fleet, or sales)
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities
  • Self-starter mentality—you don’t wait to be told what needs fixing
  • Professional appearance and customer-first mindset
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Prior automotive dealership experience strongly preferred (rentals, service, fleet, or sales)

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the Rent Car Department, including reservations, check-in/check-out, fleet availability, and customer communication
  • Oversee rental agreements, billing accuracy, deposits, damage claims, and compliance requirements
  • Maintain accurate vehicle inventory, mileage tracking, service status, and fleet readiness using TSD Dealer software
  • Coordinate closely with Service, Accounting, and Management to ensure smooth hand-offs and minimal friction
  • Deliver a professional, friendly, and efficient customer experience—every rental, every time
  • Monitor utilization, pricing, and performance metrics; identify opportunities to improve profitability
  • Train and support front-line staff as the department grows
  • Uphold Arrow Ford policies, brand standards, and operational expectations
