About The Position

The O&M Supervisor is responsible for supporting the operation and maintenance of Vistra Renewables sites, including solar and battery. Leads corrective, preventive, and condition-based maintenance jobs for the sites. The site technicians report directly to the Supervisor. Supervisor will visit the job site to determine the resources needed to complete the job in the safest, most efficient, and cost-effective manner. This position will require regular travel to the renewables sites, as well as other occasional travel for various fleet needs.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of Power plant or equivalent maintenance/operations experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Understanding of Preventative, Predictive, and Condition Based Maintenance Principles
  • Understanding of operating procedures, safety procedures, auxiliary equipment, renewables plant planning, LOTO procedures
  • Experience in computer maintenance management systems
  • Understanding of plant systems
  • Interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Computer skills using Word, Excel, Access and Outlook
  • Leadership, communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Required understanding of the functional operation of the Maximo or selected system and proper implementation of the procedures.
  • Technical background or instrumentation and controls background is a plus
  • Ability and will to adapt to a growing fleet and the changes in roles and responsibilities that will come with such growth

Responsibilities

  • Supports all aspects of the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the sites. Generates safe and effective work plans that will accomplish the desired tasks.
  • Schedules and leads Operations and Maintenance, participating in PJB’s and ensuring safe work practices are being followed, as well as ensuring environmental compliance.
  • Effectively manage employee/labor relationships.
  • Supervisor may be asked to respond to emergency callout situations and assist in troubleshooting.
  • Maintains Preventive Maintenance database; monitors and corrects job estimates on repeatable jobs; builds and modifies bill of materials list database; and generates reports as required.
  • Monitor and evaluate, with continuous improvement, the Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) technology and apply that technology by interpreting and utilizing the supporting data to properly plan upcoming projects. Incorporate the latest code, safety, and regulatory changes to the current daily plans.
  • Develop scopes of work for bidding and estimating by contractors and provide contractor coordinator oversight.
  • Personally understands all of the equipment and maintenance activities in the assigned area well enough to give an accurate work duration, a detailed description of the tools required, the materials to be used, and how the work will to be performed for a specific job.
  • Arrange, coordinate, and provide direction for contracting workforces; supervising if required.
  • Arrange and track off-site equipment repairs. This position will be responsible for providing a scope of work, schedule timelines, and cost control.
  • Ensure planning packages are complete
  • Perform post-work package reviews to ensure that work instructions were completed.
  • Modify work instructions when required after performing post-work reviews.
  • Review estimated versus actual man-hours for accuracy.
  • Maintain and update as required work package instruction Maintain OPI WAVE database and track OPI initiatives to completion.
