About The Position

About Blue Sky Utility/ Nofar USA Blue Sky Utility develops and operates utility-scale solar and energy storage projects across the United States. Position Overview We are seeking a junior-level CPA with renewable energy experience to serve as a Project Controller supporting our capital projects portfolio. This role is responsible for financial oversight at the project level. This individual will function as the financial owner of assigned projects from development through construction and into operations.

Requirements

  • CPA (active or in progress)
  • 2–5 years of experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, or capital projects
  • Strong understanding of project accounting, WIP accounting, and capitalized costs
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting utility-scale solar and/or energy storage projects preferred
  • Experience working with project finance structures and SPVs preferred
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, execution-oriented environment

Responsibilities

  • Prepare project financial statements
  • Build and maintain project budgets and financial models
  • Track project spend against approved budgets
  • Monitor cost-to-complete forecasts
  • Review and approve invoices related to assigned projects
  • Manage change order financial analysis
  • Prepare monthly project financial reports
  • Analyze variances and identify risk exposure
  • Support lender and investor reporting requirements
  • Partner with FP&A on capital deployment forecasting
  • Collaborate with EPC and Development teams to validate project financial assumptions
  • Review contract terms for financial impact
  • Track milestone payments and draw schedules
  • Ensure alignment between financial models and executed contracts
  • Ensure proper project-level accounting treatment
  • Support audit requests related to assigned projects
  • Maintain documentation and financial controls specific to project SPVs
