About The Position

Insource Renewables has an exciting opportunity for an electrician seeking to work with other high performing professionals to deliver quality renewable energy systems to residential, commercial, multifamily, and municipal clients in Maine. Our Renewable Energy Electrician is responsible for providing leadership in Insource Renewables’ efforts to install and service high quality renewable energy systems. This individual provides direct installation, supervises other Insource employees and subcontractors, provides quality assurance oversight, and ensures project safety while serving the needs of our clients. This is a unique position for an experienced and motivated professional that is looking to advance in their career with the support of other renewable energy professionals.

Requirements

  • a Maine Journeyman Electrician's license;
  • OSHA 10 certification;
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds;
  • Commitment to industry best practices;
  • Proficiency with web applications;
  • Valid driver's license;
  • Ability to obtain NABCEP PV Installation Professional certification within 18 months of hiring; and
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of audiences through email, on the phone, and in-person.

Nice To Haves

  • a two-year or four-year degree in a related field;
  • previous supervising experience; and/or
  • experience working with renewable energy systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) projects, including the installation of the inverter, AC interconnection, and DC wiring to the array,
  • Assist with installation of mini-split heat pump (MSHP) projects, including the installation of the branch circuit, AC and DC wiring to the equipment, and the mechanical portions of the system,
  • Commission solar photovoltaic (PV) inverters, perform final inspections, and ensure thorough project documentation,
  • Implement the company safety plan in collaboration with Insource staff,
  • Coordinate project inspections with authority having jurisdiction (AHJ),
  • Facilitate interconnection logistics with the local electrical utility, as necessary,
  • Collaborate with other Insource staff to review and improve company procedures and practices,
  • Assist Operations Manager and Project Managers with maintaining effective communication and scheduling with clients,
  • With assistance from the warehouse manager, identify and secure necessary equipment and materials for successful project completion,
  • Perform other tasks consistent with the NABCEP PV Installation Professional Job Task Analysis, and
  • Develop and maintain professional networks with potential and existing clients, builders, subcontractors, industry colleagues, code officials, and other key partners.
