About The Position

The Paralegal will directly support our attorneys through a dynamic blend of administrative and research activities, including immigration and removal defense cases. Your responsibilities will involve drafting and reviewing legal documents, conducting in-depth interviews with clients, and undertaking thorough research and investigative work to verify facts. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to enhance your leadership skills by supervising the activities of one or more legal assistants. Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to supervise, lead, and motivate a team while effectively conveying the company's vision
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite
  • Familiar with key legal principles and can exercise sound judgment to make informed decisions
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
  • While four years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal is preferred, equivalent experience will be considered.
  • An associate degree in Paralegal Studies, a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • A Paralegal certificate is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in Immigration Law or Litigation is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage a team of legal assistants, including workload coordination and delegation.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to legal assistants to support their professional development.
  • Thoroughly review and analyze cases, legal documents, and reports prepared by legal assistants to ensure accuracy and completeness before submission for attorney review.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy.
  • Skillfully interpret and apply laws, rulings, and regulations to diverse legal documents and situations.
  • Prepare and present persuasive legal arguments and expertly draft and revise legal documents and declarations.
  • Liaise effectively with clients, USCIS, other immigration agencies, and team members to facilitate clear and timely communication.
  • Proactively obtain necessary information from external organizations or agencies to support casework.
  • Meticulously organize and manage case information, maintaining accurate and up-to-date databases and tracking systems.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and well-formatted legal reports that effectively convey key findings and insights.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and availability, whether working in the office or remotely.
  • Respond promptly and comprehensively to case-related inquiries from legal assistants and other departments.
  • Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as required to support the overall goals of the legal team.
