About The Position

NotaryCam is seeking experienced, high-performing Remote Online Notaries for General Notary Work only in the following biometric-authorized states: Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Utah, Virginia, and Wyoming This is an independent contractor opportunity for notaries who are confident working independently in a technology-driven, fast-paced remote environment. NotaryCam is a selective platform, and this role is intended for notaries who already have hands-on Remote Online Notarization (RON) experience and can manage live sessions with accuracy, professionalism, and composure. Notaries must be available for a minimum of 10 hours per week Work is scheduled in shifts, with a minimum three (3) hour shift Primary coverage hours needed: 2:00 PM – 5:00 AM Eastern Time Consistent availability during this time window is required to meet current business needs Additional availability outside these hours may be offered but is not required Volume of work is not guaranteed. As a Remote Online Notary performing General Notary work, you are responsible for ensuring the legality, accuracy, and security of notarizations conducted remotely using secure online platforms. This role requires strong technical proficiency, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously during live notarization sessions. This is not a training role and is not intended for brand-new notaries or those new to remote online notarization.

Requirements

  • Minimum six (6) months of active Remote Online Notarization (RON) experience
  • Minimum one (1) year as a commissioned Notary Public
  • Authorization to perform RON in one of the listed biometric states
  • Completion of a Remote Online Notarization basic training course
  • Errors & Omissions insurance with minimum $100,000 coverage
  • Background check dated within the past 12 months
  • Ability to work independently and follow detailed procedures
  • Minimum 15 Mbps download / 15 Mbps upload
  • CPU: Windows Intel i5 or better
  • RAM: Minimum 8 GB (12+ GB strongly recommended)
  • SSD with 512 GB or more available storage

Responsibilities

  • Verify signer identities using approved remote identification and biometric authentication tools
  • Review documents for completeness, accuracy, and legal compliance prior to notarization
  • Perform electronic notarial acts, including witnessing signatures and applying electronic seals
  • Conduct live RON sessions while maintaining control of the notarization process
  • Ensure strict compliance with state-specific RON laws and NotaryCam procedures
  • Guide signers clearly and professionally through the remote notarization process
  • Identify and resolve minor technical, document, or signer issues in real time
  • Follow all security and fraud-prevention protocols
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and other stakeholders
  • Stay current on changes to notary laws, RON regulations, and technology
