About The Position

The Senior Remarketing Specialist is responsible for managing the efficient and compliant liquidation of repossessed automotive collateral with the goal of maximizing recovery and reducing charge‑off severity. This role serves as a subject‑matter expert within the remarketing team and provides leadership, guidance, and support to other Remarketing Specialists. The Senior Remarketing Specialist works closely with auction partners, vendors, recovery agents, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely sale execution, accurate valuation, and adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements. This position requires working a variable schedule, which may include late evenings and occasional weekends, as directed by management.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of vehicle valuation tools (KBB, Black Book, MMR, IAA Market Value, Copart ProQuote, ACV pricing, Carfax/AutoCheck insights).
  • Ability to analyze data and use tools such as Excel (pivot tables, Power Query), Power BI, and web-based remarketing platforms.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Understanding of reconditioning ROI, structural/frame damage identification, and auction standards.
  • Familiarity with NAAA policies and arbitration processes.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in automotive remarketing, auction operations, repossession support, fleet, or automotive finance.
  • Required 3–5+ years of experience in automotive finance, remarketing, auction operations, repossession, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle valuation, auction processes, reconditioning, and industry pricing guides (Black Book, MMR, Copart Proquote, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, train, or mentor team members.
  • Ability to work independently and set and maintain effective deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and vendor‑management skills.
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of NAAA auction and arbitration policies.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, automotive management, or related field preferred.
  • Web navigation and/or web-based applications.
  • Personal computer: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Excel skills must be intermediate or better.
  • 10-key calculator and QWERTY keyboard skills.
  • Copier, faxing & other general office equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • IARA Certified Automotive Remarketer (CAR) preferred.
  • Knowledge of EV and hybrid-specific valuation considerations.
  • Preferred ARA Certified Automotive Remarketer (CAR) certification.
  • Experience with remarketing platforms (e.g., OPENLANE/ADESA, Manheim/OVE, SmartAuction).
  • Certification in frame assessment or condition report writing.
  • Knowledge of state repossession regulations, UCC guidelines, and CFPB expectations.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field.
  • Thorough knowledge of NAAA Certification Guidelines desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Manage auction and digital marketplace relationships, ensuring consistent performance, service quality, and adherence to remarketing standards.
  • Oversee vehicle lifecycle from assignment through sale, including transport coordination, inspection, imaging quality review, reconditioning evaluation, pricing strategy, and reserve setting.
  • Utilize platforms such as AutoIMS, ADESA, Manheim, ACV, IAA, and Copart to monitor inventory, track performance, and manage sale activities.
  • Analyze market trends, pricing tools, and buyer behavior to optimize sale timing and maximize net recovery.
  • Develop and manage sale promotions, digital marketing strategies, and buyer engagement initiatives.
  • Review condition reports, imaging, and support arbitration management.
  • Track key KPIs including days-to-sale, recon ROI, conversion rates, auction expenses, and arbitration outcomes.
  • Maintain compliance with internal policies, state titling requirements, and documentation standards.
  • Provide feedback and performance evaluations for transportation, reconditioning, and auction vendors.
