Level 1 Reman Operator is an entry level remanufacturing assembler position. Operator’s process previously used automotive valve bodies, separator plates and/or solenoids. Operators disassemble, clean, evaluate components for reuse, and perform other reclamation processes on components for use in remanufacturing. This position works in a cooperative and team based manufacturing environment consisting of both individual work stations and in-line manufacturing cells.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent, and/or related work experience.
  • Basic use of manual and powered hand tools used with metallic materials.
  • Must have attention to detail, strong hand dexterity and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to read and understand work instructions, standard work and work orders.
  • Ability to work in a cooperative and team-based manufacturing environment with daily job rotations.

Nice To Haves

  • One year work experience in a manufacturing related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate component quality utilizing vacuum checks and other measurements in accordance with standard work procedures.
  • Disassemble valve bodies or solenoid cores using manual and powered hand tools.
  • Operate sand blasting machine, solvent washing machines, ovens, demagnetizer and/or ultra-sonic cleaning machines to remove chemicals and debris from solenoids and valve body cores.
  • Inspect all parts for damage and recover the ones needed for assembly.
  • Mount and adjust parts into fixtures and align for reaming holding dimensions and tolerances.
  • Ream parts with powered hand tools at less complex levels.
  • Test valve bodies and solenoids.
  • Evaluate quality utilizing vacuum checks tools, solenoid testing machines and/or other measurements in accordance with standard work procedures
  • Perform visual and quantifiable inspection.
  • Participate in training on assembly and finished goods inspection.
  • Solder as needed in assembly process.
  • Maintain supply of non-inventory solenoids utilizing the bin replenishment system.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping tasks and machine cleaning tasks and performs planned operator care and maintenance tasks.
  • Identify and control non-conforming material.
  • Perform additional duties and tasks as directed by management.
