About The Position

$3.35 Stipend Tier Pay for working in the BCU CMHA-CEI is a Michigan Certified Bronze Level Veteran Friendly Employer, and we encourage active military service members, veterans, and their family members to apply. Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Coordinator the Bridges Unit Adult Mental Health Services, and the clinical direction of the Program’s Physician, will primarily be responsible for daily Nursing care for patients at Bridges. Responsible for telephone screens/intakes; admissions; nursing health assessments; administration of TB tests, administration of medication as prescribed by the physician or in keeping with physician’s standing orders; and reading/recording; contact with Physician as needed; attending staff meetings, scheduling admission appointments, and completion of nursing progress notes. Routine cleaning of facility; laundry and simple meals. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Possession of a certificate from an accredited practical nursing education program (one year college-level program) required.
  • Possession of a State of Michigan credential required.
  • A minimum one-year experience in Nursing with the mentally ill and/or developmentally disabled population required.
  • Must demonstrate competent computer skills in database programs and word processing.
  • Access to reliable means of transportation for job related use required.
  • Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, verification of a professional license, Medicaid/Medicare verification, educational background check, and verification of an acceptable work history.
