Burrow Global has an immediate need for a Relief Design Engineer. This role provides process technical expertise on Relief Design to ensure that the facility is in compliance with relief design standards and codes. This role requires experience in relief design, good overall knowledge of safety & value-creation practices and documentation requirements. This role also assists with planning and implementation of relief design work requests with our approved engineering firms being used at the facility. The Relief Design engineer is expected to do the following: Check for documentation completeness. Compliance with standards and codes Explanation of assumptions Documentation is thorough and clearly worded. Check for common mistakes and oversights. Suggest alternate solutions to reduce cost of implementation of design. Compliance with the organizational guidelines and practices. Help enforce consistency. The Relief Design engineer is not expected to: Assure the arithmetic accuracy of the design calculations. Audit the installed system to assure adherence to the design. Job Description: The Relief Design engineer supports the North America sites by bringing special process safety engineering expertise for overpressure protection system design and risk assessment to the company. This person will be responsible for promoting consistency, accuracy and record retention for relief valve specification and sizing. They will drive our standards and improve our understanding of the calculations performed by our engineering firms. Good planning, communications and interpersonal skills are a must. This person will have the expertise of our processes, chemistry, and materials of construction that are required for a properly designed relief valve.
