SummaryThis role is responsible for guiding and implementing efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls. Accountable for the overall performance of the Maintenance Department to include employee safety and productivity, plant and total predictive maintenance programs. Accountable for all equipment reliability and safety to meet production objectives through implementation and application of sound maintenance programs and processes. As a member of the management team, is jointly accountable in meeting all plant objectives and deliverables.

Requirements

  • Engineering or technical degree preferred
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
  • Experience implementing and sustaining reliability programs.
  • Experience using Maintenance Management Systems and ERPs.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes, develops, and maintains interdepartmental 5-to-10-year capital plan for large capital expenditures and capital leases. Keeps the capital plan forecast updated monthly.
  • Responsible for ensuring that equipment and facilities are properly repaired, maintained, and performing effectively and efficiently.
  • Supervise and mentor hourly PM/PDM technicians
  • Own and facilitate asset criticality ranking process. Develop/Review care plans (FMEA) for critical assets.
  • Review PM program for critical and regulatory assets, optimize PM and PDM activities. Investigate new technologies to expand PDM programs.
  • Develop and maintain the site bad actor and vulnerability list, schedule reviews with stakeholders and site leadership.
  • Give weekly updates on PDM program findings and reliability program results.
  • Assess equipment to be purchased and installed to ensure its maintainability, ensure parts availability, well documented prints, proper engineering, and that recommended maintenance schedules are set.
  • Analyzes the performance of parts from competing vendors and make recommendations for future parts and modifications.
  • Reviews repair history and costs to determine repair, rebuild, overhaul or replacement needs.
  • Make cost/benefit reviews to determine purchase or repair actions.
  • Updates and monitors various maintenance KPI’s and make recommendations to management for improvement.
  • Reviews equipment component forecast and help plan for large component replacements.
  • Facilitate/ support site root cause analysis. Follow up with department heads on RCA completion action items and tracking. Review completed RCA’s and RCA program for effectiveness.
  • Organize and lead equipment inspections during turnaround. Communicate and present findings in a timely manner.
  • Improve turnaround process by optimizing outage scope of work.
  • Preform site risk assessment.
  • Develop a three-year site continuous improvement plan with yearly reviews and updates.
  • Collaborate with other Mining and Manufacturing Reliability Departments
  • Other duties as assigned
