JOB DESCRIPTION: Position Title : Reliability Engineer III Location: Bedford, New Hampshire Department: Engineering Reporting To: Engineering Manager Responsible For (Staff): Yes The Reliability Engineer drives continuous improvement of equipment and utility system performance by providing technical support, leading the site’s Maintenance Excellence Program (MEP), and implementing best practices that enhance operational reliability in a cGMP environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Chemical, or related Engineering discipline
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in reliability or maintenance engineering, preferably in a cGMP / pharmaceutical setting
  • Proficiency with CMMS software (e.g., MAXIMO, SAP, BMRAM)
  • Experience in Six Sigma, Lean, or similar continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Results-driven with a high commitment to quality and compliance

Responsibilities

  • Lead and optimize the site’s Maintenance Excellence Program and related reliability processes
  • Identify and mitigate reliability risks in equipment, utilities, and control systems
  • Analyze failure data to determine long-term corrective actions and preventive strategies
  • Develop and maintain the site’s critical asset register and Asset Operations Plan
  • Create and enforce maintenance strategies that ensure equipment uptime and operational efficiency
  • Conduct Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFA) and implement preventive measures
  • Track key reliability metrics such as MTBF, MTTR, and OEE
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Facilities to review new equipment installations, design modifications, and commissioning activities
  • Define and maintain risk management strategies for reliability and operational performance
  • Mentor site personnel in reliability methodologies and continuous improvement techniques
  • Supervise MRO Coordinator/Specialist
