About The Position

Shaw Industries is seeking a Reliability Electrician IV to t rain and mentor reliability electricians 1-3, ensuring they have the necessary skills to perform their duties effectively. Involves design, installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems. Use of testing devices to troubleshoot electrical issues and inspect various electrical components . M aintain and upkeep equipment as assigned and p articipate in root cause analysis of machinery fa ult s , identify the necessary steps to correct the fa ults , and make repairs and participate in finding solutions to eliminate future recurrence of the fa ults.   • Must be able to participate in root cause analysis of equipment failures assisting in identifying the root causes of problems.
  • Must be able to assist in implementation of solutions to resolve equipment failures, preventing recurrences.
  • Basic math skills are essential
  • Must be able to operate a PIT (Fork/Squeeze) or willing to learn
  • May be to operate aerial lift
  • Must be able to walk up and down stairs.
  • Must be able to sit, stand or walk for the majority of shift.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry loads of up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, grasp and reach frequently.
  • Must be able to work with hands/ arms extended overhead.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders repeatedly.
  • Must be able to operate hand and power tools and equipment.
  • Must be able to work in elevated environment (ladders, lifts, baskets, etc.) for extended periods of time.
  • ATD (Attention to Detail)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Mechanical Equipment Repair/Upkeep Experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Train and mentor reliability electricians 1-3
  • Design, installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems
  • Use of testing devices to troubleshoot electrical issues and inspect various electrical components
  • Maintain and upkeep equipment as assigned
  • Participate in root cause analysis of machinery faults
  • Identify the necessary steps to correct the faults
  • Make repairs and participate in finding solutions to eliminate future recurrence of the faults
  • Perform other duties as directed by supervisor or plant management
  • Attend all required meetings (first day back, safety, training, etc.)
  • General housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • General Plant Repairs (Bathroom, Office, Breakroom, Parking Lot, Painting, Roof, Etc.)
  • CMMS Work Order Accuracy
  • Ensure that all upkeep and repairs to asset/equipment will be documented in the CMMS (Sharp) system
  • Include labor and materials used to complete needed tasks
  • Meet set goals that include KPI’s that will improve efficiency, downtime reductions with a distinction of process and equipment related downtime
  • Provide training to other technicians as required
  • Complete DOSTool activities to current pay level
  • Complete higher DOSTool activity levels as required
