About The Position

EMCOR Government Services is seeking a talented Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Planner for a bid proposal for a large healthcare government healthcare facilities at Fort Bragg NC. The Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and optimizing maintenance activities for hospital infrastructure assets using reliability centered maintenance principles. This role supports patient safety, regulatory compliance, and operational continuity by ensuring maintenance work is well defined, risk based, and executed efficiently.The RCM Planner serves as the link between reliability strategy and maintenance execution, translating asset risk, failure modes, and condition data into effective job plans and maintenance schedules. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical, trade school, or associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance planning, maintenance scheduling, or reliability support roles.
  • Experience in healthcare facilities, critical infrastructure, or regulated industrial environments strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) concepts and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Proficiency with CMMS systems for work planning and asset history management.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and OEM documentation.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare facilities experience (hospital or medical campus).
  • Familiarity with Joint Commission, NFPA, and Environment of Care requirements.
  • Exposure to predictive maintenance programs or condition based maintenance data.
  • Basic training or certification in reliability or maintenance management (e.g., CMRP coursework).

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance Planning & Scheduling• Develop detailed maintenance job plans for preventive, predictive, and corrective work, including labor estimates, parts, tools, permits, and safety requirements.
  • Plan and schedule maintenance activities to minimize disruption to patient care and clinical operations.
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules with operations, clinical departments, and facilities leadership.
  • Ensure work is planned in accordance with RCM strategies and asset criticality.Reliability Centered Maintenance Support• Support implementation and sustainment of RCM based maintenance strategies for hospital infrastructure systems.
  • Incorporate failure modes, risk rankings, and predictive maintenance findings into maintenance plans.
  • Review equipment history and performance data to recommend plan improvements, task changes, or frequency adjustments.
  • Assist with root cause analysis (RCA) and failure investigations by providing work history and planning insights.Hospital Infrastructure Systems• Plan maintenance for critical hospital systems, including: o HVAC and environmental control systemso Electrical distribution and essential electrical systems (EPSS)o Medical gas and vacuum systemso Plumbing, steam, and chilled water systemso Life safety and fire protection systemso Critical utilities supporting ORs, ICUs, imaging, and data centers
  • Prioritize work based on patient safety, regulatory risk, and asset criticality.
  • CMMS & Documentation• Maintain accurate and complete maintenance plans, task lists, and schedules within the CMMS.
  • Ensure work orders include proper failure codes, asset data, and compliance documentation.
  • Maintain equipment history and support reporting of reliability and maintenance performance metrics.
  • Provide feedback to reliability and maintenance teams on plan effectiveness and execution challenges.Regulatory Compliance & Risk Awareness• Support compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, NFPA, and Environment of Care (EC) standards through accurate planning and documentation.
  • Incorporate required inspections, testing, and regulatory tasks into maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure planned work includes appropriate safety, infection control (ICRA), and interim life safety measures (ILSM) considerations.Collaboration & Communication• Work closely with maintenance technicians, reliability analysts, engineers, and contractors.
  • Communicate clearly with clinical and non clinical stakeholders regarding planned work and system impacts.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to maintenance efficiency and reliability performance.
