About The Position

The Release Triage Engineer is responsible for ensuring timely, reliable, and high‑quality software releases across broadband and entertainment devices by proactively monitoring system metrics and alerts to identify risks early. This role requires strong troubleshooting expertise in Linux environments, networking protocols, and packet capture analysis, as well as the ability to diagnose and resolve issues related to Wi‑Fi, Ethernet, network protocols, WPA security, media playback, audio/video streaming, web browsers, HDMI, Bluetooth, and device connectivity. The engineer works closely with cross‑functional teams to quickly identify root causes, remove release blockers, and maintain overall device performance and product stability.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of C/C++ and Linux experience
  • 3+ years of experience with log management and analysis tools such as Elastic Stack (ELK), Splunk, and Grafana for data
  • Demonstrable experience with defect tracking tools such as Jira
  • Demonstrable experience with SCM Tools - Git & GitHub

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ Years of experience as a technical lead and mentoring a small team of engineers

Responsibilities

  • Develop anomaly detection techniques and data-driven solutions to identify and address system issues.
  • Deep-dive analysis of RDK middleware issues, including source code review, to identify root causes in the middleware and platform.
  • Design and enhance operational tools to improve system performance.
  • Analyze data from millions of field devices to provide insights and support decision-making.
  • Utilize AWS technologies (S3, Athena, Quick Sight) for data management and visualization.
  • Architect and implement DevOps solutions for operational improvement.
  • Compare the metrics globally across various device models.
  • Respond immediately to critical field issues, determine their triggers, and mitigate them.
  • Lead teams, mentor colleagues, and communicate technical insights effectively to stakeholders
