About The Position

At Sunday, we're developing personal robots to reclaim the hours lost to repetitive tasks. We're focused on an ambitious goal to make generalized robots broadly accessible, enabling households to take back quality time. We have spent the last 18 months building a talented team, securing capital, and validating our technology. We are now seeking passionate individuals to join us in the next phase of our growth. If you are ready to apply your skills to the forefront of robotics innovation, we’d love to hear from you. As an Infrastructure & Release Engineer, you own the "Path to Production." Your mission is to build the automated pipelines and secure guardrails that allow our team to ship high-quality code to a global fleet of robots with total confidence. You architect the systems that ensure every release is validated, every binary is signed, and every robot is provisioned with a hardware root of trust.

Requirements

  • Pipeline Expertise: A deep background in modern CI/CD, build systems, and release engineering for complex, multi-language software stacks.
  • Systems Security Knowledge: Understanding of Linux-based edge device hardening, disk encryption, and the automation of security policies at scale.
  • Environment Automation: Proficiency in managing build clusters and release infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Kubernetes, or Ansible).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a founding or early hire; able to define a release roadmap where no blueprint exists.
  • Practical experience (or high curiosity) in using LLM-based agents to automate code reviews, security patch generation, or complex test suites.
  • Familiarity with the mechanics of TPMs, Secure Elements, or hardware-based root of trust from an automation perspective.

Responsibilities

  • Release Orchestration: Architect and scale our build systems (e.g., Bazel, GitHub Actions, Buildkite) to handle complex, multi-modal testing and automated validation for our general software and robotics stacks.
  • Automated Security Pipelines: Engineer the CI/CD workflows for hardware-level security, including automated TPM provisioning, secure boot image signing, and at-rest encryption configurations.
  • AI-Native Validation: Proactively design and monitor testing systems that leverage AI agents for automated vulnerability detection, regression testing, and release auditing.
  • Developer Velocity: Identify friction in the engineering lifecycle and build the shared infrastructure that allows the team to iterate rapidly at scale without compromising on safety.
