About The Position

Adventist Health Clear Lake is looking for Release of Information Specialist for Per-Diem, Day Shift. We are looking for great individual who can work onsite to our location in Clear Lake, CA Located in the metropolitan area of Sacramento, the Adventist Health corporate headquarters have been based in Roseville, California, for more than 40 years. Job Summary: Serve as the subject matter expert and acts as a resource for the release of protected health information (PHI) to ensure that patient confidentiality is protected at all times. Processes release of information requests and coordinates timely responses to requests for patient information, as required by law. Applies substantial knowledge of the job and experience to complete a wide range of activities with varying difficulty. Works with sensitive and confidential information on a regular basis, often involving the interpretation of policies and procedures to guide use.

Requirements

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
• Knowledge of Release of Information regulatory requirements: Required

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
• Three years Health Information Management/Healthcare experience: Preferred
• Electronic Health Record and Datavant/Ciox HealthSource experience: Preferred
• AHIMA Release of Information Microcredential: Preferred

Responsibilities

• Validates and processes requests for release of information in accordance with hospital policies and state and federal regulations.
• Meets minimum required productivity standards on a consistent basis.
• Uses experience with interpersonal skills to successfully answer phones, greet customers and resolve requests.
• Works efficiently and successfully in a high paced work environment.
• Utilizes organizational experience and skills to set priorities.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
