The Relationship Banking Officer develops relationships with prospective and existing clients and will be responsible for overall management of those relationships. Responsibilities will include originating loans and deposit accounts for business and for high net worth individuals. The Relationship Banking Officer will generate loans. Within the portfolio managed, the business banker will be responsible for credit decisions (within authority guidelines), overall credit quality, and fee income.

Responsibilities

  • Builds relationships with clients by providing value added services and expertise.
  • Participates in company’s organized, primarily team-based officer call program.
  • Through a deep understanding of bank products and services, uncovers needs and makes recommendations to clients and prospects.
  • Partners with business development and treasury management personnel to create new and expand existing client relationships.
  • Identifies current and prospective sales and expansion opportunities by reviewing client and market data and trends.
  • Ensures credit quality at loan origination and through ongoing monitoring of assigned loan portfolio in accordance with loan policy.
  • Establishes and negotiates the terms under which credit will be extended, including the costs, repayment method and schedule, and collateral requirements with guidance from the Senior Loan Officer and Senior Credit Officer.
  • Presents loan requests to the Bank’s Loan Committees.
  • Collaborates with and delegates tasks to portfolio manager to ensure that clients’ needs are met and documentation and operational tasks of loan are completed properly.
  • Strategically maintains public relations with the community by serving on local boards and committees and attending community functions.
  • Protects the bank and clients by following company policies and procedures and completing required BSA and compliance courses.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
