Reinsurance Account Executive – Crop Specialist $69,264 – 101,055 / year minimum starting pay Job Level: Individual Contributor Shelter maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in geographic location, education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Please remember that this range is the starting base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. What You Will Be Doing: Write profitable assumed treaty reinsurance focused on crop and related agricultural lines. Expand the crop portfolio, monitor market trends, and maintain profitability across domestic and international markets. Research and identify new clients, develop marketing plans to convert prospects, and foster relationships with existing clients. Manage end-to-end underwriting, including company research, analysis of complex reinsurance treaty information, contract interpretation, pricing indications, and recommendations to the reinsurance team. What We're Looking For: Prior experience in crop insurance and reinsurance underwriting (multi‑peril and crop hail preferred). Strong technical knowledge of crop insurance and treaty reinsurance principles. Analytical ability to assess complex risk scenarios and pricing models for crop reinsurance. Direct experience using crop modeling software; integrates model outputs into underwriting and pricing decisions for reinsurance treaties. Familiarity with international crop programs and quota share/stop loss treaty structures. Understands financial pricing models, methodology, and tools, including actuarial techniques, including knowledge of financial and statistical analysis. Knowledge of the property and casualty insurance market, Shelter Insurance Companies’ operations, and global reinsurance market. Familiarity of risk transfer and reinsurance principles, contract construction, and actuarial and financial mathematics used in modeling and measuring risk and reward of reinsurance structures. Knowledge of catastrophe modeling platforms; analyzes outputs. Strong oral and written communication skills for frequent interactions with outside firms and representatives; presents complex data/information to varied audiences. Completion of CPCU and ARe certification or MBA, or equivalent is required. Ability to perform essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
